Ay'Asia Kelly, M.S.

Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Pottstown

In Ay'Asia's Own Words...

"I knew since the 8th grade that I wanted to become a therapist and help others process and overcome challenges and experiences that life has given them. My goal as a therapist is to provide individuals with compassion, integrity, warmth, and empathy while working through struggles and challenges. The space that we create is one where they can speak freely and openly, be heard and understood with a safe environment to grow and prosper during their healing journey."

Ay'Asia's Professional & Academic Background

Hello! My name is Ay’Asia, and I am a clinician here at the Pottstown office. I have been working in the mental health field for nine years since obtaining my bachelor’s degree. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University, where I completed my first internship at an adult day program serving individuals with various mental health diagnoses.

After graduation, I transitioned into residential treatment, working with at-risk youth who were dually diagnosed with mental health disorders. I spent five years in the residential setting, where I grew professionally and advanced into the role of Program Manager. In that position, I helped reshape the program to better meet the needs of our youth through improved supports and services, in collaboration with my director. During this time, I also facilitated multiple therapeutic groups focused on addressing the complex challenges our youth faced.

In 2023, I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Counseling from Capella University and am currently working toward licensure. I completed my graduate internship in an outpatient setting, where I discovered the type of therapist I aspire to be. Following graduation, I transitioned into an inpatient hospital setting, where I had the opportunity to further explore and apply new therapeutic approaches.

I have experience working with clients ages 4 and up and provide individual, family, and group counseling. My approach to therapy is eclectic with a psychodynamic foundation. I draw from various evidence-based practices, theories, and modalities to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and young adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidality, trauma, and everyday life challenges—both big and small. I also have experience working with adults 25 and older.

When you step into our space, it is designed to feel safe, supportive, and judgment-free—a place where you can express your thoughts and emotions openly, process your challenges, and feel truly heard and understood.

“Emotions are not good or bad; they are simply information. It's what we do with that information that matters.” – Aaron T. Beck
