Samantha Finger, MS

Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Perkasie

In Samantha's Own Words...

“I started studying psychology due to an interest in understanding why people act and think the way they do. I like to use a person-centered approach while offering clients acceptance, empathy, and a nonjudgmental space where they feel heard and supported. I believe that each individual has unique strengths and experiences that shape their journey, and I strive to help clients build insight, resilience, and confidence in themselves. My goal is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship that encourages personal growth, emotional healing, and meaningful change.”

Samantha's Professional & Academic Background

Samantha graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in

Psychology and minors in Human Development and Family Studies and Child Maltreatment and Advocacy Studies. She then earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg. Her education emphasized evidence-based treatment, multicultural competency, trauma- informed care, crisis intervention, stigma reduction, and psychotherapy across the lifespan. Her thesis research focused on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for incarcerated individuals with substance use disorders.

Throughout her clinical career, Samantha has gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across a variety of treatment settings. Samantha has experience providing mental health, behavioral, and substance use treatment services across outpatient, residential, school-based, and community settings. Previously, she worked as an Addictions Therapist, where she provided individual and group therapy within residential rehabilitation. Her work focused heavily on emotional regulation, relapse prevention, coping skills development, and supporting
individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Samantha also has a strong background in behavioral and school-based mental health services. During her internship, she provided school-based counseling services and supported students experiencing emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties within the
educational environment. As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), she provided Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and adolescents diagnosed primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder, implementing individualized behavioral interventions while collaborating closely with families, schools, and treatment teams.
